School organisation guidance – withdrawn

February 22nd, 2016 by Rachel Kamm

The Government has withdrawn its guidance on opening, closing, or making school organisation changes to local-authority-maintained schools.  The relevant page on gov.uk states “We are currently reviewing our guidance to local-authority-maintained schools and will replace it shortly“.

Any schools that are considering changes (or are in the middle of making changes), still can rely on the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 and the School Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) Regulations 2013, which are unaffected by the withdrawal of the statutory guidance.
